The service
Tailored to your day, not a template
No two weddings are the same, and we don't treat them that way. Whether you want us to bring the bride to the church, take the newlyweds to the reception, or simply circle the grounds for photographs, we work around what you actually want.
We cover Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland as our regular patch, and take bookings across Cambridgeshire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire for the right wedding.
Our horses are Gelderlander Dutch warmbloods and Hungarian Lippizaners. Black or grey, matched pairs or a full team: we choose the turnout that suits your colour scheme, venue and style.

The carriages
The original blue Landau
Our Landau is the centrepiece of every wedding turnout. An original carriage, not a replica, painted in the deep Landau blue that became the signature of this business. When the hood folds back on a clear day, the photographs take care of themselves.
We also keep a wagonette for larger groups, and a selection of period vehicles suitable for different venue styles and photographic treatments.

Common questions
How far in advance should I book?
Weekend dates in the summer months, particularly Saturdays from April to September, book up quickly. We recommend enquiring as early as possible, ideally 12 to 18 months ahead for a peak-season wedding. If your date is coming up, it is always worth calling.
What areas do you cover?
Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland are our home patch with no travel supplement. We regularly travel into Cambridgeshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire and parts of Norfolk; please enquire for a quote including travel.
How many guests can travel in the carriage?
The Landau comfortably seats four passengers, typically the bride and her father to the ceremony, then the newlyweds afterwards. The wagonette can carry more. We work this out with you when we take the booking.
Can we decorate the carriage with flowers or ribbons?
Yes, and we encourage it. Fresh flowers, ribbons and greenery can all be attached safely. We discuss this in advance so your florist knows exactly what to plan for.
What happens in bad weather?
The Landau hood can be raised in rain. The horses are not deterred by weather; they work in all conditions. We monitor the forecast and keep you informed, but we have never cancelled a wedding on the day due to weather.
Can we visit beforehand to meet the horses?
Yes. We welcome visits to Barlows Farm, Grantham. It is a good chance to meet the horses, see the carriages and talk through your day. Many couples find it reassuring to see how calm and steady the team are in person.
