Our story
A family business, a lifetime with horses.
Based in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir, near Grantham on the borders of Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, DK Carriage Horses is owned and run by husband and wife team Danny and Sarah Kendle.
Danny has driven professionally since 2007, more than seventeen years of work that has taken him from a novice learning to hitch a single horse to driving a coach and four in front of thousands. Sarah manages the client side of the business: the enquiries, the planning, the communication, the detail that makes a wedding day or a film shoot run without friction.

The planning behind every perfect day
Sarah is the first person most clients speak to. She handles every enquiry personally. No booking forms, no automated responses. If you have sent an email or left a voicemail, Sarah will get back to you.
She coordinates the logistics of every booking: the route planning, the timing with venues and photographers, the decoration and floristry arrangements, the colour matching for horse and carriage to wedding palette. The things that distinguish a good job from a great one.
She also knows the horses as well as anyone. She has been alongside this work since the beginning, and the care that goes into the animals, their training, their welfare and their presentation, is as much her standard as Danny's.

Danny
Seventeen years on the box seat
Danny is an extremely competent and adaptable coachman with experience driving single horses, pairs and teams of four. He started in 2007 and has not stopped since.
His work has taken him from village churches in Lincolnshire to celebrity events in London, from BBC studios to Hollywood productions. He has carried Queen Victoria, Clowns and Father Christmas. He has driven in front of the roar of thousands at Olympia and been interviewed by the BBC while holding the reins.
None of this is mentioned to impress you. It is mentioned so that when you see him pull up outside your venue with two black horses and a blue Landau, you understand that whatever happens next, it is completely under control.

Our home
We are based in the Vale of Belvoir, near Grantham, a well-kept secret and area of outstanding natural beauty on the borders of Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, with Belvoir Castle high up on the hill. The horses live and train here. Lessons take place in the yard and on the quiet surrounding lanes. Viewing visits are welcome by appointment.
Being in easy reach of the A1, A52, A46 and M1, we are ideally placed to serve Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland as our home patch, and regularly travel into Cambridgeshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire and Norfolk for the right job.
